HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. - Goaltender Shannon Szabados, a two-time Olympic gold-medallist with Canadas womens hockey team, has been named the Southern Professional Hockey Leagues player of the week.Szabados went 2-0-0 with a 1.49 goals-against average and a .963 save percentage last week, helping the Columbus Cottonmouths increase their winning streak to six games.Szabados stopped 35 of 36 shots and assisted on the game-winning goal in overtime last Tuesday as Columbus defeated the Fayetteville FireAntz 2-1.She came back on Saturday with a 42-save performance in Columbus 3-2 road win over the Mississippi RiverKings.The Edmonton native is the first woman to play in the SPHL.
